Pricing and credits
Vertex API prices everything in credits. The weight of each request is fixed, published, and printed on every response, so you can budget from the request alone. The machine-readable price list lives at /v1/pricing.json and needs no key.
What a request costs

Add dry_run=1 to any request to get {"product", "credits"} without executing it.
Only successful responses are billed. A request that returns 4xx or 5xx refunds its credits, and its x-credits-cost header reads 0.
- 15,000 credits a month and 1,000 a day, resetting at UTC midnight.
- Commercial use allowed. Attribution “Weather by Vertex API” required where the data is shown.
- 10 requests per second, one key.
- No card.
Pay as you go
Section titled “Pay as you go”Graduated, per calendar month:

- You set a monthly spend cap when you add a card (default $20). Requests return
402once the month’s accrued usage reaches it. - 50 requests per second, unlimited keys, attribution waived above $50 a month.
- Billed monthly in arrears through Stripe. Change the cap, card or cancel from the console.
For scale: one million credits buys a million forecast calls, or five million map tiles, for $500.

Comparisons that matter
Section titled “Comparisons that matter”- A tile is $0.10 per thousand at list price, a fraction of raster-tile pricing from map providers, and every weather tile is run-stamped and immutable so repeat views come from your cache.
- A forecast call with the full soaring set is one credit. Open-Meteo counts the same call the same way; we simply have the fields.
